What is it permissible for a man to do with his wife during the day in Ramadaan?

Image
Question Is it permissible for a man to sleep beside his wife in Ramadaan?. Answer Praise be to Allaah. Yes, that is permissible. In fact it is permissible for a man to be intimate with his wife when he is fasting, so long as no intercourse or ejaculation takes place. Al-Bukhaari (1927) and Muslim (1106) narrated that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: “The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to kiss and be intimate when fasting, and he was the most able of you to control his desire.” Al-Sindi said: The word yubaashir (translated here as “be intimate”) means touching the wife’s skin and her touching him, such as putting his cheek against hers and so on. What is meant here is touching the skin, not intercourse. Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked: What is it permissible for a man who is fasting to do with his wife who is fasting?  He replied: A man who is observing an obligatory fast is not perm...

She has a boyfriend who touches her intimately during the night in Ramadaan

Image
Question I have heard that sex is permitted during night time in ramazdan. my problem is that i have a boyfriend ( for 3 years now ) and I engage in the usual hugging, kissing and intimate touching but we have not had sexual intercourse, and do not plan to do so since it is highly forbidden. i need to know if what i am doing is haraam and what the punishment is, and if it is regarded as a bigger sin during ramazan during night time. if i repent will i be forgiven?. Answer Praise be to Allaah. Undoubtedly having boyfriends and girlfriends is a major sin. Intercourse and touching are only permissible for husbands and wives, or for a man with his female slave (concubine). It is haraam for you to have a boyfriend, and it is haraam for both of you to shake hands or to be alone together, let alone hugging, kissing and touching. All of that comes under the heading of zina al-jawaarih (fornication of the limbs). It is haraam at times other than Ramadaan, and during Ramadaan the proh...

Intercourse during Ramadaan

Image
Question Is it permissible to have sex during Ramadan. Can we have sex in the night and take bath before doing the sahar Answer Praise be to Allaah. Firstly: Intercourse during the day in Ramadaan is haraam for men and women alike, who are obliged to fast during the day. Doing that is a sin for which expiation (kafaarah) must be offered. The kafaarah is to free a slave; if that is not possible then the person must fast for two consecutive months; whoever is not able to do that must feed sixty poor persons. It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: Whilst we were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), a man came to him and said, “O Messenger of Allaah, I am doomed!” He said, “What happened?” He said, “I had intercourse with my wife when I was fasting [in Ramadaan].” The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Are you able to free a slave?” He said, “No.” He said, “Are you able to ...

Should a woman start with making up missed fasts from Ramadaan or with the six days of Shawwaal?

Image
Question What should a woman do first: fast the six recommended days of Shawwal ( Alayam Alsetta Albeed) or fast equivalent to the days she missed in Ramadan due to her monthly period? Answer Praise be to Allaah. If she wants to earn the reward mentioned in the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “Whoever fasts Ramadaan then follows it with six days of Shawwaal, it will be as if he fasted for a lifetime” (reported by Muslim, no. 1984), then she should complete her Ramadaan fasts first, then follow it with six days of Shawwaal, so that the hadeeth with be applicable to her too, and she will gain the reward mentioned in it. As regards the matter of permissibility, it is permissible for her to delay making up her Ramadaan fasts, provided that she makes them up before the next Ramadaan comes along.

Can a woman whose fast is broken because of menstruation in Ramadaan eat?

Image
Question When a woman has her monthly period it is well known that she cannot fast. Is it permissible for her to eat during the day in Ramadaan? Are there any guidelines?. Answer Praise be to Allaah. When women who are menstruating or bleeding following childbirth become pure during the day in Ramadaan (i.e., the bleeding stops), and when a traveller arrives at his destination, and when a sick person who stopped fasting recovers, they do not gain anything by refraining from eating during the day. They broke their fast for a reason, and making them refrain from eating is a matter which requires a shar’i text as proof. Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked:  If a woman who is menstruating or bleeding following childbirth becomes pure during the day in Ramadaan (i.e., the bleeding stops), does she have to refrain from eating and drinking? He replied: If a woman who is menstruating or bleeding following childbirth becomes pure during the day ...
